David Pretlow grew up in Birmingham, Alabama where he trained classically on violin with members of the Alabama Symphony and attended the Alabama School of Fine Arts. He continued studying violin in Cleveland, Ohio with Bert Siegel of the Cleveland Orchestra and was concertmaster at Shaker Heights High School. After graduating from Emory University in 1992, David moved to Destin, Florida as one of the founding members of “Salty Dog," and later the "Go-Daddys.” He currently performs as a soloist on violin for weddings and special events, solo and duo with guitar and electric violin, and on guitar and electric violin with the bands Beach Mice, DeMonki, and Hog's Breath Band.

Dave has performed on 6-string electric violin at the Sandestin Wine Festival each April since 1998. Here is a short video of some typical wedding music from the 2005 event.

Weddings are generally booked as a one hour event. Violin starts up to 20 minutes before the wedding time. Most wedding ceremonies are 12 to 20 minutes in duration... The remaining time can be utilized as a transitional period from the service to the reception and for photos of the wedding party. Call (850) 585-7146 or email for availability and booking.

There are several wedding and event coordinators I can recommend in the Destin area. All are good people who share resources with eachother and work to accomodate each event specifically. You won't be disappointed with:

A Warner Wedding - Devin Warner - preferred wedding officiant

Don Goodrum - Officiant and more... nice website

Joyce & Tom - Beach Weddings Etc.
